Blackboard Error Message

A wonderful error message greated me today in my “Personal Information” section on BlackBoard: Oracle does not fully support CLOB manipulation (inserting or updating) using a PreparedStatement. Instead you must manipulate the CLOB through the ResultSet returned by a “SELECT FOR UPDATE” query.

    That error message has been there for a REALLY long time…in fact, for as long as I’ve been an NYU student (which is about 3.5 years). Based on the way it loads, I think it may be in the database itself…I’ve never bothered removing it though and just type my profile info after it, since it’s all in an HTML comment anyway. (c:=
